Feats of Strength

The 2019 Tachi Palace World’s Strongest Man competition will offer a unique challenge to the contestants, who will be required to pull two Monster Jam trucks over a distance of 22 meters in a qualifying round.
With a combined weight of 25,000 pounds, it will take considerable effort for the contestants to get the job done, but some will clearly be up to the task. The world class athletes are accustomed to lifting heavy weights and showcasing feats of strength that, like Monster Jam performances, have been awe-inspiring.
The World’s Strongest Man competition is being held in Bradenton, which serves as the first-ever Florida host for the event. The contest has not been held in the United States since 2014.
One of the contestants is better known for his role as Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane in the television series “Game of Thrones”. In this competition, he is known as Hafthor Julius Bjornsson from Iceland and he is the defending champion of World’s Strongest Man. A native of Iceland, Bjornsson stands 6-foot-9 and weighs more than 400 pounds .
The event is being recorded for airing on June 30 on CBS. Check local listings for times.
