Camden Murphy's Double Duty
Authored by Larry Jewett on August 14, 2019
Monster Jam fans have come to associate the name “Camden Murphy” with the Bakugan Dragonoid. They may not know there’s a long racing history behind the Itasca, Illinois driver, who came to Monster Jam in 2017 from an oval racing background.
Recently, he had the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds – NASCAR Racing and Monster Jam – and we were there to catch it all.
Camden Murphy did manage to move from West Lebanon to race the following weekend at Iowa Speedway’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event, finishing 24th. He has also competed in four NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series events this year.
His Monster Jam success in 2019 has earned him a spot in the 2019 All-Star Challenge at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas on October 11-12, where he will compete as a member of Team Fire. Murphy has won six Racing titles with a record of 36-11. He has also recorded two Freestyle wins and finished a close second in the competition at Monster Jam World Finals XX this past May.
